Take That, Las Brisas!

On Wednesday, District Judge Yelenosky struck down the air permit that was granted to Las Brisas by the pollution-industry-crony commissioners of the TCEQ because the permit does not meet air quality standards.

We can all breathe easier down here in the Coastal Bend for awhile.

Hopefully, Las Brisas will now decide to either design a plant that does meet clean air standards or to go away - either would be fine with me.  We will see.

Some good news! Thank you for this update. I am glad for all people, but especially for LSG.

Me, too. Thank you. At least I know that no matter what happens, the time frame is now such that she will be off to school before it could possibly be built and become operational. Not that it would be acceptable for her sister or anyone else to be poisoned by it, but her respiratory issues and our economic inability to just pick up and move left me in a state of total panic every time her doctor started talking about the effects the plant would have on people like her. It still has to go, though - even her doctor, who is not asthmatic, said he would move if it was built as he would not have it shortening his lifespan. It's especially bad for people like the LSG, but very bad for everyone.
